I thought we both agreed it was a bug on the server side, not the client side. Plex is trying to use HW accel to decode/encode my HEVC file, but my CPU doesn’t support HEVC. Can you make sure to re-read the thread and refresh your memory?
Can’t be server side. I have the iPad 10 Pro. Same “iOS” profile. I do HEVC 2160p just fine
Please read your own words from a few months ago: Synchronise HEVC 10bit to iOS 6s
There you said it’s a bug in Plex’s way for checking if HW is available.
Since that time, PMS has been updated several time has it not?
I will write this up again for engineering to look at. that’s all i can do with everone off site
Last time I tried was a week ago, but let me check again and I’ll report back with the results. Nevertheless, I haven’t seen anything related to this in the changelog of Plex.
please also reply wth XML for the file being played AND app playback settings.
I’m having the same issue trying to “optimize” files on a DS916+ so i don’t have to transcode them for devices that don’t support h.265. I’m only seeing an issue with these h.265 10 bit files

The N3710 CPU in the DS916+ doesn’t support 10 bit in hardw are.
If you turn off hardware assist, does it succeed ?

This is what I have been trying to tell you. There is a bug in Plex that makes the code believe that the CPU is capable of things that it is not.
