Synology and Plex unexpected error

Server Version#:DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 1
Player Version#:1.29.2.6364-7000
Plex see the NAS, I have claimed the server, I have enabled all the custom permissions. I have uninstalled Plex, rebooted, reinstalled, checked permissions and still
Get Unexpected error when trying to access the librarys. I am logging in using direct IP address to NAS. I have tried cleaning bundles, and optimizing libraries.
All to no avail. All I can seem to find on the web on this is all about ensuring permissions are set correctly.
Any other thoughts?

Where are your Plex media files? I have a shared folder called Plex Media at the root of Volume1. Inside there I have all my folders for movies, kids movies, tv shows, music, photos, etc in there. This is the only permission I needed to make on the Plex media folder with the System internal user for plexmediaserver, then I added my folders and files which inheiret the permissions and created the libraries in plex.
Logs files would be nice to see in your post to determine if there is something else going on.

My media files are in separate directories.
Music
Video
Photo
Plex
PlexMediaServer
All have System User custom setup as recommended.
I will see if I can get the plex logs and post

Thanks
Doug

You’ve three options:

  1. Repair the database
  2. Restore from a backup
  3. Delete it and start over (recreate all libraries)

Repair

Use PlexDBRepair Utility. It is easier than performing the steps manually: Repair a Corrupt Database.

Restore from Backup

See Synology FAQ 31 - DSM 7 - Database Repair using a Backup copy.

Depending on when the corruption occurred, the backups might also be corrupt. You will need to check the log files after restoring from a backup.

Delete and Start Over

If the database cannot be repaired or restored from a backup, you will need to delete it and start over. You will have to re-create your libraries, reshare them with friends/family, etc. Your media files are not touched.

  1. Stop Plex Media Server
  2. In File Station, navigate to the database folder
    /PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases
  3. Delete all files in the Databases folder.
  4. Restart Plex Media Server.

You can then login to PMS and re-create your libraries, http://192.168.1.14:32400/web.
