Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314
Synology DSM Version#: 7.2.2-72806 Update 2
As of today, and after nothing changed on my Synology 423+ NAS, Plex doesn’t run. I start the package and it falls over dead.
I upgraded to the latest version of DSM (I was a minor release behind) and then uninstalled Plex and manually reinstalled the latest version from plex.tv. The same thing happens. Not sure what I can try here.
Unreal. Fixed. I had to clean uninstall, nuke the PlexMediaServer folder share, reinstall the latest version manually, then copy my library back into the newly recreated share. And then it just worked. Until I nuked the share, Plex wouldn’t even run.
I have no idea what happened. I’m going to leave this unresolved for a couple of days in case anyone can hazard a guess.
I actually thought tonight was the night I’d be switching to Jellyfin after 15 years of using Plex.
Impossible to tell without log files. However, it reads like database corruption, which, if bad enough, can stop Plex Media Server from running.
It is relatively easy to determine if there is database corruption. Look in Plex Media Server.log (and rollovers .1.log to .5.log) for ERROR entries that mention the database is corrupt or malformed.
