Synology and transcoding

Hi all,

I am using a Plex server in my Synology NAS to play audio files, using an ALAC codec.

When checking the file format, I get the message in the attached screenshot: ‘transcode reason: bitrate exceeds the maximum allowed’.

I want to listen to audio files with the best possible quality. Can you please let me know how to remove transcoding and how to have control on which codec is used for transcoding?

Thanks.

Kind regards,

Federico

What are the player settings?

The settings control most of how a file is played. Limitations of the device itself are also included when the player and PMS negotiate how to actually play it.

The setting on remote streaming is ‘original’. Is there any other setting I need to check? Thanks

Federico
