I’ve been using Plex for at least a couple of years with no problems. Synology DS-216j. Could view my content with Plex on a PC or on my Samsung TVs flawlessly. Starting about August 2019 I can no longer view any of my content using Plex. I can see thumbnails but nothing will open. I can still view the content on my Synology via other methods, but absolutely nothing on Plex. Did an update this summer make it useless?
Thanks for such a quick reply. I went in and set those permissions (had to use R/W as RO was greyed out) and I rebooted the Synology. Now on Plex (both TVs and PC) it cannot even see the Synology. By the way, after the reboot the Read Only option became available and so I used it. But that didn’t change anything, still can’t see my server on Plex.
On a related question, when looking at my Shared Folders in order to set the permissions, I noticed the folder called Plex. Is that something that Plex creates? It doesn’t show in my normal file view.
Thanks again for the help, Ford and Trump. I had a few quirks happening but I do seem to have everything working now that I set the permissions correctly as well as clearing out the assigned folders in Plex and then re-assigning them. Seems to be a lot of buffering while testing videos but I am farther away from the server than the usual TV which is next to it.
One question - can I hide the Plex folder that is now showing in my FileStation?
