My Plex Media Server on Synology doesn't work anymore

Server Version#: 1.16.6.1592
Player Version#: Ipad up to date

Hello,
I have a Plex Media Server installed on a Synology NAS drive.
Everything worked well, but since about 1 month, the server does not seem to be synchronized with the disk:

  • The library does not update.
  • Play Multimedia file is not possible (message when I try to play a movie: “Check that this file exists and that the disc is accessible”)

Sorry for the Google translation and thank you for your help.

Possibly this?

I’m not sure I understand everything but if I look in the control panel / User, Plex is present with a status “Normal”.

You’re close…

  1. Select the plex user and click Edit
  2. Then select the Permissions tab which will show all of your shared folders and the permissions that user has to each of them.
  3. You will need to checkbox either Read or Read/Write next to the shared folder where your media files are located.
(ex: My media files are in a shared folder named Plex Media and I gave the plex user read permissions so that it cannot inadvertently delete something. Then I have a separate shared folder called Plex DVR with read/write permissions)

To be clear, if your media is stored in the same shared folder as the Plex Media Server install (which is not advised) the plex user will need read/write permissions on that folder.

You can also follow the screenshots from the article @FordGuy61 linked to. Which accomplishes the same thing, but by editing the Shared Folder permissions in Control Panel.

It’s good, the problem came from there, the user Plex had more access to my video folder!
Thank you very much.
