Systemd: add "SyslogIdentifier=PLEX"

Server Version#: Ubuntu 1.15.6.1079-78232c603

In /lib/systemd/system/plexmediaserver.service

Can SyslogIdentifier=PLEX be add under [Service] ?

I makes the easy to understand the source.

sh[13757]: Sqlite3: Sleeping for 200ms to retry busy DB.
vs
PLEX[5903]: Sqlite3: Sleeping for 200ms to retry busy DB

Excellent recommendation.

I will work this into the next packaging update.

Update:

I am completing some packaging work now.
First packaging update to be released is debian/ubuntu.

How does this look?

SyslogIdentifier=Plex
StandardOutput=journal
StandardError=journal

I would do syslog over journal. Since syslog is easy to forward to a log server, like i do.
syslog will also log to journal, as described her: man: systemd.exec

Thanks for confirming what i suspected as well. I wanted to make certain I was reading that correctly.

I also want to make sure I have all the compatibility right for the different variants.

I’ve added the above to the new service file. As soon as the Debian side goes into production, we’ll start the RPM side.
