Tablet bug with new plex web?

I opened an entry here https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/260173/tablet-bug#latest but nobody answered. So maybe I am the only on that can not see tv show overview on iPad iOS 10 or nobody had time to answer.

I hope someone here can say if I am the only one or someone else has the same problem.

In linked entry is a screenshot.

I can confirm this on Safari iPad with latest iOS. Seams to work in landscape but portrait has some kind of bug. And can’t play music or movies via PlexWeb 3.0.1 either (not that i use it - but its still a bug i guess).

I have the problem on portrait and landscape in iPad iOS 10

I’ve forwarded this to the devs for further investigation.

They are having difficulty reproducing it. Anything you can do to help (Plex/Web debug logs) would help them immensely

I can reproduce it with Google Chrome on iOS. Open PlexWeb 3.0.1 in landscape and select a movie. Change to portrait (rotate device - don’t reload anything), and select another movie. This will generate the UI error.

Note. Couldn’t reproduce the error on Safari on iOS.

Can you get the Plex/Web Debug logs please?

Plex/Web debug logs from Google Chrome (iOS) attached … It looks like a combination of css and javascript, which results in the UI error.

The devs would also like the steps to reproduce in Chrome.

If you can capture that debug log, as you reproduce it, it would be perfect for them

Was posted in previous message

Hmmm, this is strange. It only happens with some movies. Not all. I’ll get the logs for the movie which generates the error.

Movie: “The 9th Life of Louis Drax” (agent: PlexMovie with IMDB score). I can’t figure out, what the difference is … since some movies work ok and others don’t.

Extra:
Just saw another bug. PC Google Chrome (v56) Music Library (filter: All, Artist, By Name) is missing search by letters on the right side (1920x1200), but when i make the browser window smaller they’ll get visible. In fullscreen they are under/below the right scrollbar and isn’t visible (hidden).

Thanks for being patient with me. I’m not a web guy so am doing my best to follow instructions

I’ve got the logs… Thanks for that.

The steps-to-reproduce they are looking for are based at “From the Dashboard:” perspective. What do you click/tap in what sequence to cause the problem? This let’s them follow your logs as they reproduce themselves.

Steps to reproduce with Google Chrome on iOS.

This must be done with the movie: The 9th Life of Louis Drax (agent: PlexMovie with IMDB rating)

EDIT: This only happens with unwatched movies. I think this is the trigger

  1. Ensure tablet is in landscape mode.
  2. Open PlexWeb
  3. Select movies library from sidebar.
  4. Click on movie (The 9th Life of Louis Drax) to show movie info page.
  5. Rotate tablet to portrait mode.
  6. Select movies library from sidebar.
  7. Click on movie (The 9th Life of Louis Drax) to show movie info page.

At step 7 the UI will be “broken”.

@ChuckPA Don’t know if you get a notification if I update the response above.

This only happens with unwatched movies. I think this is the trigger …

It´s not only movies, tv show infos are also hidden.

do you guys have an add blocker installed on iOS, if so, could you try to disable it and see if the issue persists?

I do in Safari, but not in Google Chrome. I checked Chrome settings on iOS, but only popup stopper activated.
When it is enabled in Safari, the same happens. If i disable it, the UI error is gone in Safari. Yes, this is very strange.

Note: This isn’t really a problem for me, since i use the Plex App on iOS.

I don´t have installed any adblocker on my iPad.

Hi,

So I’ve been able to reproduce this on my iPad with no adblocker enabled. I’ve filed an issue about this internally, but we’re not sure when this can be fixed.

Thanks for the report.
