I created a compilation of exercise videos and added them as two TV Shows. Understandably, the titles are unrecognized. They still show up as TV Shows, and I can watch their “episodes” as expected. However, I’d like to add a Genre tag, but there is no “Tags” option on their edit screens.
Looking at a nearby show that is recognized, I see the following Categories on their edit screen: General, Tags, Sharing, Poster, Background, Advanced.
For these two, their edit screens contain: General, Poster, Background, Advanced. Missing are Tags and Sharing.
Do I need to do something special to allow Tags for these (or Sharing labels, for that matter)?Curiously, even though the Tags->Collections field is not available, the “Add to Collection…” menu option is.

I think this is a bug. The Tags and Sharing options show up on their edit menu if I first click on the TV Shows category, find the show, then select their edit menu.
If I click the “Home” option, find the show on the Recently Added list and click its edit menu, then the Tags and Sharing options do not show up.
Very likely what appears on your home page is not the show as such, but its single elements.
i.e. episodes and/or seasons
But you can only assign a genre to the top level of a show.
So if you enter a tv show “sideways” via some homepage hub, you need to travel to its top level by clicking on its title.
The Home Screen “Recently Added” is definitely showing the seasons. If I click the icon, it takes me to the season, not a specific episode. Also, the Edit->Info shows all the episode disk locations instead of a single episode. Also, other icons in the same list had Edit menus with Tags and Sharing.
A season is not the top level of a show so you can’t apply a genre to it.
