This would be wonderful. I sometime watch shows from my server together with a friend in another part of the country, and the way we do this now, we have to message each other when we pause and resume, so that we'll keep in synk. If Plex could do this for us, that would be awesome. Definitively +1

I would also really love this feature. All I would use it for would be playing audio on the computer in my bedroom while that same audio is being played on the TV in the livingroom. I have been searching forever for something that could accomplish this but have not found anything. In fact, my searching for this feature led to me finding out about Plex, even though it does not have the feature yet.
I'll shell out instantly for a lifetime pass if this gets implemented.

I have 4 powered speaker zones in my house, set up via Airport Express boxes. Typically I use Remote from my iPhone/iPad to control it. The app lets me specify multiple zones which is great for parties, etc. I recently switched to Plex and I would LOVE a one-stop solution. I really like the Plex remote apps for mobile/PC devices. Currently, when I play music from my iTunes music channel, I see no option to play via AirPlay at all, let alone multiple zones, so this feature is useless for me.

I too am looking for this feature - But i would like to use it so that myself and my friend (whos in a different house and watching through my shared library) could basically watch a movie together "virtually" what would then really add the icing on the cake is if you could then bring up a text or even video chat link between the two plex clients so you could laugh, comment, argue about stuff in the film just like you would if you were in the same house...
basically the ability to either launch a synchronised media stream to multiple devices - and/or when the second device connects a message saying this media is being played on x device would you like to watch in sync.
once both watching or listening to the same stream - a chat feature (text and / or video chat with picture in picture) would be awesome

And adding it to this request, which is essentially what I was going for. Personally, I don't really care if it's out of sync by a second or two, I'd just like it to be close without having to physically count down 3...2...1...go! Please implement this!

Just like to move my support to this feature request.
Can see the privacy concerns for households with multiple users, so like the idea of being able to restrict stream viewing to a set of clients, or just make a stream public or private to keep it simple.

You know the Roku 3 has a headphone port on the remote, so you can listen wirelessly with the sound down on the TV? Might be a better option as the audio would be properly in sync with the video. Would need you to buy a new Roku though, so probably more expensive than wireless headphones or this feature.

I currently use DS audio on my Synology NAS to broadcast to my ATV and Airport Express over Airplay. DS audio works, but is an ugly app compared to Plex.
Would love the PMS to also be able to broadcast to multiple airplay speakers using the client apps as remotes. Perhaps via the Plex Web player?

I still want this feature!
I looked at buying a QAM modulator to broadcast simultaneously to all TV's but this would be way less expensive and way more flexible (other devices). I hope this will be added too for parties, or just general music in the house.
I would love to see this for watching GoT with my GF when I'm in the 49th state and she's in the PNW. We could watch it together and it could almost seem like we were in the same room... I might even be able to get her involved with some of the other series I follow, if we had something like this. (Or her getting me involved with hers.) :)
That would be wishful thinking - if we get anything it will probably be restricted to the local network. We shall see. The topic now 11th on the list of most popular and not yet implemented requests
