Tautulli and Plex showing different "HW" statuses

PMS version: 1.17.0.1709
OS: Windows 10 1903
Tautulli version: 2.1.21
Graphics: Quadro P400 (I haven’t tested this with Intel)

There seems to be a disconnect for transcoding status between Tautulli and Plex for the current releases. Plex shows accelerated encoding and decoding. But Tautulli shows software decoding with hardware encoding. See attached screen shots:

On my other server (Intel with Linux), Tautulli is still showing HW on both sides, so it doesn’t seem to be a change in how Tautulli presents information:

Unfortunately, I’m not sure if this is related to Nvidia or Windows, since I don’t have an easy way to eliminate them for testing purposes.

I see the same, I assume this is a tautulli issue that simply hasn’t been updated to know that linux hw decoding now works in plex.

I wondered that also. I’m surprised it’s manifesting in Windows though, as well.

well, intel has always worked with linux decode/encode.

in my case, is only nvidia that recently got linux decode support. (which doesn’t show in my tautulli)

as far as why taut not showing HW for nvidia on windows, that is kind weird, because hw decode on windows nvidia has been supported for long time too.

unless there is some weird bug with whatever plex notifications that tautulli uses to show this info, I would still assume its a problem with tautulli failing to interpret plex status correctly.
