Tautulli says PMS has started to block one of my websites!

Hope someone can help with a mystery for me. No idea this Tautulli feature even existed but just since last week during normal (Windows 10) surfing with PMS running in background as usual, one of my favourite sites (https:\www.flatpanelshd.com) is being met with “plex.5o.dk refused to connect” and the Chrome page directing me to search for “plex 8181” which is where I find all these references to Tautulli!

Could someone explain what is happening here? Why is the Plex server trying to connect to websites in the first place? I am confused! I keep PMS up to date and Chrome on auto update. This one is the only site it happens on and Chrome is the only browser. Explorer and Firefox load fine. I haven’t been messing with any settings lately to my knowledge either.

Neither of these URLs has any connection with Plex.
Either you are the target of ‘spear fishing’ or one of your 3rd party plex Plugins is malfunctioning.

I don’t have any 3rd party Plex Plugins to my knowledge. I have Malwarebytes Premium running and just scanned again revealing no threats. Any guidance on what could be happening and what to do next?

Posting a screenshot from when the issue arises adn the message is shown on screen might help.
I am still unclear what Tautulli has to do with this.

Thanks. It is when I “Search Google for plex 8181” as the message says that I see all these references to Tautulli - which I have never heard of before and haven’t a clue about!

What were you trying to do when you got this error?
Which website was open before you saw this?

As I said in my OP I was just trying to open this website in the normal way as I have done many times before from my Favorites Bar in Chrome. It only started doing this last week and (so far anyway) is the only one of hundreds of URL shortcuts to do this.

There is no connection to Plex at all.
All you see is a host name that happens to be ‘plex’ - but it has nothing to do with plex as a company.
The host name plex.5o.dk is/was probably someone’s private plex server. (the domain name 5o.dk has and had no connection to Plex Inc.)

Now why visiting www.flatpanelshd.com is triggering th eerror message in your browser, I don’t know.
Maybe the owner of www.flatpanelshd.com has tried to integrate his plex server into this website with some custom scripting which is failing?

Are you trying to load that page from a bookmark? It’s possible your saved bookmark got changed to a different site somehow. This has nothing to do with Plex (the product/company) or Tautulli though.

Yes, shortcut was first thing I looked to blame but it also happens when I type in the URL and also click links from search.
I’ll keep trying to get to the bottom of the mystery. Thanks for confirming Plex and Tuatulli (whatever that is!) are not involved - at least directly.

Just realised other pages from site would load OK so back to investigate bookmark. This plus the dreaded auto-complete turned out to be the culprits though how this Danish site and Plex name got onto the scene must have been some PUP that Malwarebytes cleared out in the past maybe.

Anyways mystery solved - thanks for the help you guys. And I still don’t know what this Tautulli is all about. Maybe I’ll read up one day - or just remain in ignorance :grinning:

Tautulli is awesome, if you want to monitor your plex server.
