This is really sad news, I didnt know Ned personally (how many of us did?), but he helped myself and many other out in these forums for a long time. I will raise a glass to him tonight. Please let his family know what he meant to this community and how he will be missed, it wont be much, but it might help, even just a little…

It is a testament to his character that even while he was going through hard times, he still found time to help a group of people he never met. I know I benefited from his generosity, and will miss his presence.
Sad news, just popped back to look for something and saw his name and mention he’d moved on, wasn’t expecting this.
Briefly encountered him a few times, he was always passionate about what he was doing.
