Development stopped?

Has development stopped on OpenPHT? No commits on the project since July 4. All sorts of problems with OpenPHT using any version of PMS past 1.0.0.2261.

I use OpenPHT on a media center PC. I connect to PMS through browser and connect to the HTPC through the browser.

Everything works with PMS 1.0.0. If I upgrade past this version (I’ve tried EVERY release), I lose functionality to seek, change volume, etc after starting play back from the browser. Once I downgrade back to PMS 1.0.0, there are no issues controlling the HTPC through the browser.

Scenario:
HTPC: Start OpenPHT
LAPTOP:
Connect to PMS through browser (http://pms_server_ip_address:32400/web)
Connect Plex interface in browser to HTPC (top right corner)
Play back anything and the interface in the browser disappears. The media starts playing on the HTPC but you cant stop/pause/enable or disable subtitles/change volume etc.

If I use PMS 1.0.0, everything works as it should. Upgrading to any version past this doesnt work properly anymore.

PMS 1.0.1 came out in July and there has been no work on the project since OpenPHT 1.6.2 was released. Is the project dead?

its not dead. here it was just discussed.

To add some perspective to this: The official Plex Media Player that Plex is making to replace PHT hasn’t had a significant update since June, and just a couple of minor bug fixes in the last two months. While the all-volunteer community-driven OpenPHT also had a significant update in June…

So the RasPlex/OPHT volunteers are keeping pretty good pace competing with the official PMP (and OpenPHT combined with the integrated skins offers a more feature-rich, customizable, and stable product at this point, IMHO; and maybe I’m lucky, but I’ve encountered no bugs using it with the newest Plex Media Server releases) …

Of course I’d love a faster release cycle - always great to get bugs patched, and have new features to try out, the more frequently the better - but no reason to call a project dead just because it’s been quiet for a couple of months

Is there an option to donate to OpenPHT? I feel like I owe the developers a cup of coffee at least. Can’t wait for the next release.

rasplex.com. The OdroidC2 + OpenPHT has been a game changer for me. I happily threw some money their way.

Same here. I use the embedded Intel EGL-64 version on a i3 6th gen NUC and the Plex server is running on an i5 6th gen NUC. It’s the first stable (AND FAST!) version of the Theater in combo with the Plex server. For all you guys who worked on the Open PHT: GREAT work and keep it up!! Wish I could join, but the last time I used C++ is twenty years ago. I’m rusty on that side of the programming universe. But you deserve a donation nonetheless. OpenPHT destroys Plex Media Player in every way. Really happy here

Is there anyone around with enough expertise to integrate the new c2 libreelec stuff wrxtacy has been doing over on the odroid forums?? Multichannel pcm support and overall speed improvements?

LibreElec is upstream from the OpenPHT project. So when updates show up there, they usually make their way here.

OpenPHT and Rasplex are one project now, since the Rasplex team took over PlexHT, merged and rebranded it OpenPHT. So when you donate to the old Rasplex account it supports OpenPHT. You can donate via PayPal at http://www.rasplex.com/

All donations still through Rasplex, or see the link in my sig.

The Rasplex Team are still responsible for both Rasplex and OpenPHT.

The Rasplex website is currently being updated.

I don’t think anyone has gotten around to rebranding the Rasplex website though.

Yea I was able to find it

So looks like it’s merged.

So I guess the question really is, when is a new version that uses these changes coming?

Coming when it’s coming. The development Github is private and the team doesn’t spend much time fielding questions in the forum since @NedTheNerd has taken a temporary leave of absence. He has done much of the community interaction on the forums in the past. Though, I think he would probably tell you the same thing unless it’s past initial testing and definitively in a specific release.

I will say, last I spoke with him the C2 was one of the focal points for the next release. So we’re all hoping the team is able to successfully incorporate many of the improvements on that front.
