Terramaster NAS (F6-424 TOS6) Plex server keeps becoming disabled

Server Version#: 1.41.9.9961
Player Version#: n/a

Hi. I have installed Plex on my Terramaster NAS. Everything works fine for a few days, then the server will ‘disappear’. Plex does not show in the applications list, but it does show in the full application centre list as installed. I have to constantly re-enable it.

I have used the Plex server from the TOS app centre, and also manually installed the latest version from plex. Same result, server keeps going AWOL.

Any help much appreciated.

(couldn’t see a specific TAG for server Terramaster so have tagged under docker)

I’m having the same (or similar issue).

I’m running a T4-423 NAS with Plex Media Server as the only installed app. Up until last Thursday (Oct 2), it had been running smoothly for months. (I bought it in April)

Then, suddenly I saw my libraries were all offline on the Apple TV Plex app. So, I opened the NAS to check, and immediately saw that there was an update available for Plex. I updated it, thinking that would solve the problem. Afterwards, I could not keep Plex enabled. It kept reverting back to the disabled state. After looking at some Reddit posts and help forums, I realized that I was still using the old version of TOS (5.1.145), so I updated that as well - to v. 6.0.783. It didn’t make much difference. The PMS app now stays in the “enabled” state, but it’s unreachable when you try to open it.

If I disable and re-enable it, I can open it briefly, but then it disconnects again within seconds and is unreachable. I’ve noticed that port 32400 is listed in the Ports section on the Control Panel when I first enable it, but then it disappears after it becomes unreachable.

I tried everything I could think of, as well as suggestions from online forums. I uninstalled and re-installed it, I rebooted the NAS and my Router countless times. I even did a complete factory reset to default settings on my NAS and went through the setup process right from the beginning, installing a fresh copy of TOS 6 and Plex. And in between, I of course deleted the old Plex file where all the configuration files were stored from the last installation.

After every fresh install of Plex, I’m able to open it and go through the setup process again - re-adding all my media libraries, etc. But it still crashes out, either before I’ve finished adding my media libraries, or just after, when I’m actually in Plex and try to play anything.

Tonight I had a help session scheduled with an engineer from Terra-Master. He spent over an hour going through everything, trying a manual install, accessing log files and SSH terminal. He couldn’t figure out what the issue was. He said that everything was working as it should on their end (with the NAS hardware and TOS), so it must be some sort of issue with Plex itself.

He advised me to contact Plex support to explain the issue and send them the system-generated debugging and log files, but when I tried to contact Plex support, the webpage said they DON’T OFFER SUPPORT by e-mail, and to just read through the forums!!!

How am I supposed to share the files with them to diagnose the problem?

I’m really frustrated.
