Ok I just went through the episodes and now only episode 1 is messed up. I used bulk rename and got rid of the [Fester1500]. Hmm…
Read my post above - if you did, drop the episode name:
Spongebob Squarepants - S01E01 - part1.avi
Also - are you sure your device supports stacked episodes? Some do, some don’t.
I noticed the error I made with the episode name. Missed the 0 in s01. I changed it, removed the files, cleaned bundles, emptied trash, added the files back, updated libraries and IT DIDNT WORK! Lol why does plex hate me. I also went through every file and made sure all the names were exactly the same. ;(
You may have to Plex Dance the entire show.
Did you drop the episode name as per these instructions in the official documentation?
/TV Shows
/Heroes
/Season 01
Heroes - s01e01 - pt1.avi
Heroes - s01e01 - pt2.avi
Heroes - s01e02.avi
'Officially - since it’s official and all - I would use ‘pt1’ as shown.
If you do it exactly as shown and it doesn’t work - then we can raise hell about it (if you confirm your device supports stacking).
Yeah cartoons are tv shows. I fixed all typos but the part is after the episode. S01e01 - part1 - Help Wanted. That’s the format. I’ll try to change it but I gotta think how to change it cause they are all like that.
With intense dedication to the process…
and some old fashioned manual labor…
maybe a CTL/C (copy) and CTL/V (paste) may help - I use it with great effect sometimes. Once ‘- prt1’ is in the copy buffer you can paste it a million times. Could be handy info.
BTW - make sure your kids know how much you love them and the pain and suffering you went through on their behalf and if they say: ‘seemed like a waste of time, Dad’ - give their inheritance to the Salvation Army.
lol
now there should be no reason for this…
F:\Cartoons\Spongebob Squarepants\Season 1\SpongeBob SquarePants - s01e01 - Reef Blower - part2.avi
F:\Cartoons\Spongebob Squarepants\Season 1\SpongeBob SquarePants - s01e01 - Tea at the Treedome - part3.avi
F:\Cartoons\Spongebob Squarepants\Season 1\Spongebob Squarepants - s01e01 - Help Wanted - part1.avi
maybe my plex server is just mad at me
so sorry had refresh issues with forums
Read all the posts above - you have obviously missed some.
Gotcha tyvm
Omg, unbelievable. All day to figure out the problem was all the episodes were named SpongeBob SquarePants and the part I was having trouble with was called Spongebob Squarepants. Because it had a lower case B and P, plex wanted it listed last. Well at least it’s working now. Ty so much for your time and help
I did everything u said btw so the name of the episodes are gone and they are all pt1, pt2, etc. this was a learning experience. Case sensitive windows, plex, or the metadata server.

SpongeBob SquarePants
Filebot would have got that perfect - but the Name TVDB lists is the name.
I even missed it myself, but I would have used FileBot and Filebot would have gotten it right.
Anyone that doesn’t think naming and structuring is important - think again - and I guess that would be the moral of this long, tedious story.
I tried using filebot but I couldn’t figure out the parts at the end.
Are there settings in Filebot that will change it from 3x04 to s01e01. Most of my files already have the s01e01, its Filebot that is changing it to 3x04
when you hit Match select edit format from the list. Make that change and filebot remembers. You can also use the {Plex} config. Check the second filebot link in my post for additional info.
Thanks You Juice, I will look at Filebot tonight, that should make things much easier.
Only thing is, under Rename/Match, I don’t see a plex option? Is there a Plex plugin that needs to be added?
You should click that second FileBot link in my signature. That takes you to the ‘advanced’ section where all sorts of neat things happen. It’s all quite easy, but you do have to discover the methods. I think it’s {plex.name} now, if you want to just name and not move, but don’t quote me on that. I structure by hand, but let FB do all the discovery and file naming.
For instance, I like to have the resolution included in [Brackets] when I match and name a Movie file. Easily done when I added:
[{vf}]
to the string in that Format Edit Window and I would have never known how to do that if I hadn’t spent a few minutes in the advanced section. The result being all Movies I match now look like:
48 Hrs (1982) [1080p].xxx.
About ready to give up, now have Filebot renaming episodes properly accord to Plex, and I’m still get the stupid Cleveland show crap.
Ie:
Cleverman - S02E01 - Revival
Removed Cleverman, TV folder empty, emptied trash, clean bundles. Add “Top of the Lake - S01E06”, fricken episode shows correctly, but dang Cleveland show still coming back. Plex, Fix your coding ! ! !
