the new nrk site

I have Plex installed on Win7. Unzipped and renamed as usual. The NRK icon is showing under channels. Entering this channel, I get TV / Radio / Podcast. In TV, I choose "Direkte TV", here I see NRK1+2+3. On all 3 of them I get

"

This channel is currently unavailable.

"

One time I got the Plex page with the orange play button, but after hitting the play button I got the same message. I have this problem both local and from a different computer on the network. (web client). Not sure where to start looking for a solution. Any suggestions?

anyone?

anyone?

Please use the github pages for issues and suggestions. PS: There is already a known issue with live streaming.

Thx. Just checked out the github issue page. Looking forward to your updates. This is somehow one of the missing link in becoming a cordcutter ;o). And the advantage of course to have it streamed to all devices, incl. TV. Will you post an update on this forum when a solution is found?

To be honest, I probably will forget ... However, you can track the issue on github.

Yeeeeeeh !! looks like all is working now. I haven't changed anything in my setup. Works really well. Even the search from the main Plex web page is scanning NRK for relevant information. Super! Great work, thx a 1000 :)

This is all because of mr. burnbay, all cred to him.

Excellent, finally NRK is working under plex.

I'd like to add that I got it working on a Freenas 9.1.1 jailed install by:

1. cd / /mnt/"Name"/jails/plex_1/usr/pbi/plexmediaserver-amd64/plexdata/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/

2. wget https://github.com/eithe/NRKTV.bundle

3 .unzip into current folder (i removed the execution flag on all files as using the old NRK.Bundle as a reference).

4. Rename folder to NRKTV.bundle

5. remove old NRK.bundle ( I used the web "uninstall channel function") remember to remove the correct NRK plugin (check url in the statusline)

6. restart the plex service.

7. Watch NRK using plex!

Thanks!

Guys and girls, can you test the latest version thoroughly on as many setups as possible and either respond here or (preferably) create github issues for problems you find (with logs and good explanations on the setup and how to reproduce)?

We are preparing to submit it to the Plex app store and would like to nail out the biggest bugs.

Will do! Have Plex on iPhone, iPad, Samsung TV, Galaxy S4 and Note 10.1 and will test on all.

First impression is that it works as intended on all units :-)

I have used the NRK plugin a lot this weekend on all my devices, and I have not seen a singel bug/error . Fantastic work guys! :-)

I get errors when trying to use the app in both Plex Web, PMC and on Android.

Error in Plex Web:

This channel is currently unavailable.

Error on Android:

An error occurred while attempting to navigate to the selected item. It appears that the associated server is no longer accessible.

That seems a bit weird .. Please try to make sure you are on all latest versions, restart your machine and devices and update the NRK plugin.

Updated:

  • PMS to version 0.9.9.7
  • Plex/Web to version 1.2.25
  • plex.tv to version 2.0.20
  • PMC to version 1.0.11.213
  • Android to version 3.2.8.109
  • iOS to version 3.4.0

Plex service restarted on server after update. App still doesn't work anywhere. Also tried to reinstall the app, update it and restart it.

I get the following errors when I click on the NRK TV icon:

  • Plex/Web: "The media server responded with an error".
  • plex.tv: "This channel is not responding."
  • PMC: "Failed to load. The navigation item failed to load. Check logs for more information"
  • Android: "An error occurred while attempting to navigate to the selected item. It appears that the associated server is no longer accessible".
  • iOS: "Unable to load TV. The server encountered and error when trying to respond to the request"

@miceagol How did you install, reinstall and restart the NRK channel? And please try to find and post relevant logs of what happens in the background when it fails when you try to go into the channel.

I installed the app first time from Plex Home Theater. The second time I did this through plex.tv. There I clicked on Channels, then hovered the mouse above the NRK app and clicked the uninstall button. I installed the app again by clicking the "Install Channels" button in the top right corner. I then browsed to the NRK app, installed it, and then updated, restarted and reset the app from the same menu.

Log file from PMS attached.

Ah, ok, I’m only on my mobile now, but I don’t think our new NRK channel has been pushed to the app store yet so you need to install it manually.

That is correct, there was still this outstanding issue: https://github.com/plexinc-plugins/NRKTV.bundle/commit/37d32e50e0cc118acc0754722ac079a983885d40

We are on the app store so uninstall/delete your manually installed version and install from the app store to stay updated going forward.

The app suddenly started working, so I guess it updated itself. :)
