This is the best worst movie ever made. Originally shot in all seriousness and not meant as a comedy, it has since garnered a cult following for its bad filmmaking, stilted acting and horrible lines. Here is a taste:

It was written, produced and directed by Tommy Wiseau, who also stars. He somehow (through very shady businesses) managed to drum up 5 million $ to make this movie. And it turned out to be a success for him, but not for the reasons he wanted. There are night-time screenings of The Room in cinemas around the world (New York and Toronto for example) where people go see it ironically, yelling the most iconic lines during scenes, and sometimes throwing spoons at the screen. Don't ask me why.

You are tearing me apart, Lisa!

Probably my favorite movie of all time! Not one hour ago I was trying to convince my coworker to watch it. For some reason people loose interest when you say ‘it’s the most hilariously bad movie of all time’ but it really is.

Yeah, tell me about it! I talked to a friend about this movie and suggested watching it for fun. He didn't see the point in watching a bad movie, so I got a deadpan look. I guess some people can't appreciate good bad things or have unflexible tastes.

In case you haven't heard (and why wouldn't you have?), one of the actors in The Room wrote a book about the weird making of the movie:

More weirdly, the book is about to be made into a film by James Franco.

I think it's already been done, though:

I didn't know about the book. I've listened to a lot of interviews from the actor that played mark (I can't remember his name) so I do know some of the strange decisions tommy made while making the film.

A movie so bad it must be seen to be believed, and then it's still unbelievable.
