Could someone please help me out?
I am very new here.
However, when I enable remote access, i can play it from other computers/devices on my network. i guess i cannot get my devices on the same network to work together.
It says Indirect Playback. You are not connected directly to server so streaming quality may be limited. you may be able to connect directly by changing your home network settings.
Thanks for any help.
Is the network connection in Windows classified as “public”? If so, set it to “private” instead.
Do you have more than one “router”-type devices in your local network? If so, this can in effect isolate parts of your network from each other and potentially put you also into a double-NAT situation.
Does your DNS resolver (usually your router, but can be overridden by things like Pi-Hole or 3rd-party anti virus software or firewalls) perform “DNS rebinding protection”? If so, it must make an exception for the domain plex.direct.
Thank you so much for replying. The connection is private.
I do have a Time Machine that has a wireless network, but nothing is connected to it.
How can I check on my DNS resolver & DNS rebinding protection?
I do have IP Vanish installed, but it is not in use when I am using Plex.
