QNAP recommends the newly released tvs-x73e as their top-of-the-line for running Plex. My concern is that this drive has a relatively slow AMD processor (AMD R-Series RX-421BD), which means transcoding might be a problem. I’m thinking I might want an i5 to be ready for future high-def recordings. The most recent QNAP I can find that has an i5 is the tvs-882. That one, however, is two years old. Has anyone heard anything about the x73e? Is the processor trade-off going to be a problem?
