Theme.mp3 not picking up reliably

This seems to be a bug when using custom theme.mp3 files when Plex has not yet provided a default theme song for the series.

  1. [Correct Behavior] Adding theme.mp3 to the root of a tv show that already has plex provided themes (e.g., pokemon) will work and be picked up without issue.
  2. [ISSUE} If you add a theme.mp3 to the root of a tv show that does NOT yet have a plex provided theme (e.g., dragon quest- the adventure of Dai) the theme.mp3 will not be picked up and used as expected.

Theme.mp3 music issue is tested and validated using Chrome web app and iOS plex app.

Did you refresh the show’s metadata for Plex to pick it up?
I cannot seem to reproduce the issue you described on my server – works as expected for shows and movies.

Can you verify the files are (a) named theme.mp3 and (b) are actual mp3 files (not just renamed files with some otherwise encoded audio)?
