I can’t watch a movie from where i left off, i starts buffering and then gives the error: “There was a problem playing this item. The video did not start playing in time”.
I’m using an LG Smart TV, and this is the first time this happened. I tried start the movie from the beggining and then advancing and the same thing happened, and turning the OFF and ON did nothing.
Hi there, I have something similar to your issue, the video will playback fine but it will not resume or fast forward to any point in the video, it will always start from the beginning. I have a TCL Roku smart tv, never had an issue before and played the same file in different players and had no playback problems and do resume and fast forward with no problem, so the issue is the Roku smart tv app.
Same problem here, on LG smart TV too, observed on few movies when I want to resume playback or change the language/subtitle few minutes after the movie starts.
Tried many thing but nothing works.
When I try to resume the same movie on another Plex player (On my Freebox Delta) it works fine!
I’m sorry to inform you but the time has come to do one of two things. I was recently faced with a choice of keeping my old WebOS LG and knowing end of Life with Plex was approaching fast, so I did not repair my TV and bought a new Shiny LG OLED. To say I’m happy with my choice is an understatement, Plex LG app is now version 4.15 and has regular updates. Alternatively a Shield or Apple TV were considered prior to a unexpected Radio card failure which renders the remote useless.
