Three small suggestions for PlexAmp

The fact you can right click on the visualizer to get the visualizer change menu is annoying and I often click it on accident while trying to right click the top of the player to minimize it. It’s already in the “main” click menu anyway so I think it would be better if right clicking the visualization just brings up the usual windows menu.

The smart playlists PlexAmp creates on a new sign in is fantastic. But since you are tweaking them continuously, maybe the “fresh love” should also have a parameter to not bring up recently skipped tracks? Currently if I skip a track, it can come back a few times, which i don’t think feels so fresh

Make a button (buried in settings?) that starts the wizard again. In case a user want’s to re-do the smart playlists or just make different choices. Also, as it is now, a (non Plex pass) Home User can not get the wizard at all I think.

  1. Tip: click on the task bar item of PA instead, to minimize it. It is less fiddly.
  2. totally subjective, I think. Some ppl don’t mind hearing their favorite tracks again and again. Just look at all the requests for a repeat button
  3. Delete the playlist, then uninstall PA and re install it.

Yes, but for that the other playlist “love tracks” exists. Fresh is supposed to be fresh, for repetition I use the other one.

to get the wizard, i think you can just delete the playlists, sign out and sing back in.

Not quite the same thing, and I agree completely that the playlist would be better with some recently played skipped restrictions.

That said check below and create your own playlist filters.

to add to this…
they’ve released PMS in where smart playlists can now EDITED, i believe they will be rolling out a change that auto generated smart playlists, so you if you don’t like the frequency or whatever of auto generated FRESH or <3,then you’ll be able to edit it to your liking.

Unfortunately, those 2 lists cannot be edited (yet?), since they use some advanced filters which are not supported by the Custom Filters dialog in the web app.

interesting thought, maybe something like “not skipped in the last week”?

Another interesting thought! Don’t have an obvious/great place to put it, but we’ll keep it in mind.

Thanks for considering it.

That sounds good to me <3

How about making it part of “reset to defaults” that exists already under advanced? In the sense that, if a user clicks that to reset, the wizard will pop up as with a fresh start again?

Is this included in the PlexAmp released today? I wonder because if so I need to re-add the playlists but the changelog doesn’t mention it.

not yet, sorry  still percolating
