How can i use this on a windows based plex? Doesn't help me much to double click your file :)

Thanks this has helped me a lot. Now I finally have all my Dutch and English tags merged into 20 genres. I have one question though.

My movies often get tagged with 'Romantic Comedy', basically 2 genres with only one tag. How do I make it 2 separate tags? Now I have editted it like this, will this work? Will a similar movie receive 2 tags or does it only recognize 1 of the 2?

'Comedy'                  :  ['comedy','komedie','gross out','gross-out','gross-out film','filmkomedie'], 

'Romance'                 :  ['romance','romantic','romantische','romantische film','romantiek'],

Hi, I’m having an issue with Tidy Genres, hopefully you can help.

I have found that it will work for a simple term like:

'Drama' : ['mystery'],

but will not work for something like this:

'Science Fiction' : ['Sci-Fi & Fantasy'],

My knowledge of Python is limited, so please excuse me if this is obvious. I’m hoping it’s something to do with either the spaces and not having the correct quotation marks, or that the hyphen or ‘&’ need to be escaped?

Scrap that, I sorted it now. Tidy Genres was below local media assets in the agents list, and Plex was pulling the genre data from the metadata in the file itself.

Hi, I am quite new to Plex, and even though I’ve downloaded the TidyGenres.plexapp, I can’t work out how to install it for use on my account. I think the searches that I did for clues have lead me up a blind alley, and now I am rather lost so would appreciate help. Thank you.

guys (Dev’s) this needs to be a default feature … emby has it way better solved with their OFFICIAL “genre cleaner”-plugin

I never used this but from cursory read of the thread it should show up in agents.

The plugins ui has pretty much removed.

oh, you are right. i was looking for plugins, but TidyGenres is just showing up under Agents.

okay, it is still not working. have it activated under agents, but plex is still adding german genre’s where it should only add english ones. plus there is no option to edit the default one :frowning:
