Add German titles, summaries and posters to your movies

You can install the Moviepilot Metadata Agent through Plex. Go to the Channel Directory → More... → Metadata Agents.
Notes
The Moviepilot agent is a secondary agent that works for the Freebase agent. Note: While searching for movies, English titles may show up in the search results. They will be replaced by German titles after a successful match has been made.
Moviepilot provides the German movie title, the original title, a summary, a poster (if one is available) and the FSK rating.
The search process
This is (simplified) how the agent works:
Plex Media Server tries to grab the movie title and year from the file or foldername;
The Freebase agent does a lookup and we hope the IMDB id can be found, as this is the key piece of information. If the IMDB id cannot be found, the search stops here;
Moviepilot uses the IMDB id to lookup movie info on Moviepilot, if it finds the movie, the info is returned. If the agent can't find the movie on Moviepilot, other active agents lower on the list can provide the info.
Many thanks, Sander1! It works fine. Saubere Arbeit… But when using the moviepilot agent, i can’t choose a custom poster art that i put in the movie folder. Any idea?
The movie “Für ein paar Dollar mehr” has a huge description with a subtitle Handlung, Weullen and Kritiken. I think that they shouldn’t be included. I found this on a lot of movies. Description example
This text is on moviepilot so it isn’t a bug of your plugin. You could fix it by just cutting the text when Handlung appears. There might be some false positives but probably worth the try.
You might have to enable freebase in the moviepilot plugin in the "Info provider settings".
Ok, I ran into the same issue. I guess this scanner doesn't search local posters. I thought it would scan it too because it is included in freebase (in the big list called local media).
If that is true it should be easy to fix by adding this scanner directly into the scanner moviepilot.

I have several questions and a problem with the Agent.
Do i have to choose Moviepilot on the left side in the Provider Settings and check Freebase on the right side also? Or do i have to choose Freebase on the left and put Moviepilot at the top of the list on the right? Does it make any difference?
How do i update this Agent to the new version? Do i have to rescan the whole movie directory again?
I have a problem with the cast of the movies. It seems that it is only in alphabetical order and not of the importance of the cast. For example…i don´t want to know if Alan Blah Blah appears in the movie Edge of Darkness, Mel Gibson should be in the first place.
That's great news. Thank you. The text splits perfect. You should probably consider to include other terms in addition to Handlung.

The apostroph appears like this in the PMS and in Plex itself. I found another one in the description. Also there is an issue with "..." which is displayed the same way.
Isn’t there a possibility when developing a scraper to add the function to also list movies that could not be find on f.e. moviepilot.de even though there is no information found.
It’s really annoying to run through all these directories and compare them with the PMS to see which movies are not listed…
Thank you for your update. It is much better now. But there are still some problems. For example for “Edge of Darkness” (Auftrag Rache). The poster is right but in the cast there is Rober de Niro instead of Mel Gibson. And there are still some other movies with the wrong cast.
I deleted the movie directory and rescanned it complely new.

I haven't seen the movie, so I have no idea who's in it, but according to Moviepilot, Robert de Niro is a cast member: http://www.moviepilot.de/movies/auftrag-rache The agent can't check if the info on Moviepilot is correct or not :(, it just processes the info it gets back from the API call.
When i hold the Play Button, in the movie detail, i can not see the cast. I see it in Mediastream skin in the “Medien Vorschau” (dont know what it calls in the english version).
As i said…at the details for every movie, it is empty.
I still have the problem with very special characters but when I choose fix incorrect match some of them appear as they should. But some others are still broken…
Is ist possible to refresh all descriptions but not changing posters or fanart?
Yes, in PMS in your moviesection press SHIFT and click on the small arrow in the bottom right corner for a forced refresh. All the metadata will be updated, while posters and background images won't be changed.
