.TiVo file format

I know there’s a TiVo app for streaming from TiVo to Plex. However, I have a whole bunch of .TiVo files of programs I transfered from my TiVo to my Mac for viewing later rather than leaving them on the TiVo. Is there a way to play these files? They’re currently only compatible with Toast (which has the Transfer program included).

That would do it! Thanks!

I would be curious if there was anyway to play these directly off Plex (that is, without further coding). Can Plex be pointed to the said folder holding all the tivo downloaded files and see it as if it were a Tivo??

Well that's what I was going for. But encoding them isn't too much of a chore... I guess. :P

so i compiled tivodecode & decoded some .tivo files. now i can load these files in VLC. however, plex media manager still doesn’t recognize these files. you can’t drag & drop them into plex either. however, if you add it manually as a source under ‘video plug-ins’, it’ll see the file. strange!

why doesn’t plex media manager see it after it’s been decoded, especially since plex can see the file when i add its directory manually as as ource under ‘video plug-ins’? i even tried changing the file type using ‘File Properties Editor’… no luck.
