I hope you are all doing well. It seems that I cannot use tmdb id to match a TV show and retrieve information from tmdb.
I tried with tmdb-79855 and the proposal is not the one from tmdb but thetvdb. You can see it as there is actually a mistake on tmdb where the overview is in french and not english (hence different from the tvdb overview) → when you use fix match, the overview is not the right one.
I also tried to change the library to tmdb but it does not work neither.
Please show how you have the files named and organized - directory listing, screenshot, etc. Indicate which folder has been added to the Plex TV show library.

Thanks for pointing out to the missing translation, it is helpful. Do you know if we can force the language in .plexmatch file, in order to select the french version ?
Also, tmdb has english name for the episodes but it is not picked neither. I tried updating the folder name but still no luck.

Edit: I added an English description for the show at TMDB and TVDB. Plex should pick it up in two or three days.
The TVDB and TMDB IDs are used only for matching. They do not affect what information is displayed for the series or episodes.
Plex defaults to using the TMDB episode ordering. You might try changing that to TVDB Aired, then refreshing the metadata. Edit the show (pencil icon), choose Advanced, change Episode Ordering, then save changes and refresh the metadata for the show.
What you are experiencing happens sometimes when TMDB and TVDB have different information or lack information (such as an English description).
If TVDB/TMDB has information is available in the same language as the Plex library, then Plex will use it. If not, it may use information from other languages or may just leave things blank (I haven’t tested this in awhile).
Both sites have user contributed information and let users edit what is available.
You could edit the show description on either site, adding an English translation.
Plex should pick up any changes within two to three days.
