Unable to match specific show

Hello, I am unable to match a series Idoling!!! (2006) tvdb-433367 no matter what i do using the name or direct id match, plex always shows No matches found. even though i am 100% percent the title and the show already exists in thetvdb, i think the problem probably the !!! in the title. filenaming /storage/media/JP_Variety_Shows/Idoling!!! (2006)/Season 2008/Idoling!!! (2006) - S2008E272 - Oshirasengu!!! [WEBDL-480p] [JA] [VC1 WMA 8bit].mkv.

i tried matching using English title, Japanese title, direct tvdb id, and the results always No matches found.. For reference i use Plex TV Series for both scanner & agent. All other shows work correctly.

PS. for other media servers such as jellyfin & emby, there is no problem matching the show and showing the metadata correctly.

First thing where is your library pointing to? /storage/media/JP_Variety_Shows or /storage/media

for naming, try:
Idoling!!! (2006) {tvdb-433367}/Season 2008/Idoling!!! - S2008E272 - Oshirasengu!!!.mkv

Using { } are directive markers, it may not parse it without those. Also when renaming please plex dance it.

As i indicated earlier All other shows match correctly with zero problem. This show However isn’t being returned from whatever Plex TV Series pulls from. The API isn’t returning show. This isn’t naming issue.

Maybe @ChuckPa has an ideas

I wasnt trying to say it was a naming issue, rather that if you use the scanner directive {tvdb-433367} in the folder name you might have better luck. Using the show ID overrides the name for matching purposes.

It doesn’t work without the TVDB number either.

I think the problem might be that TMDB has no listing for this show at all

Thanks, i get what you mean, sadly even doing plex dance and adding the directive still does not show anything. see screenshot.

Thanks for the suggestion, sadly i don’t think that the case, the plex API cache shows from many sources including tvdb, imdb, tmdb etc, i have many shows in that library that aren’t in tmdb at all. usually it takes one day for them to show up in plex db this one has been a week and still Unable to match.

TVDB has a mostly empty shell with season numbers and one poster.

I also tested varying titles and no luck i tried Idoling アイドリング!!! with and without the year (2006) and tvdb-433367 it just seems the API does not like this show at all for some reason.

for reference here how is it matched in another media server

There is an issue with our data for this show. Usually something like this would be an invalid title data at TVDB. We think there was some recent change at TVDB last edit was today actually. We did queue it for a refresh so hopefully it should be resolved in ~24 hrs
