Hi and thank you for PLEX the best multimedia server ever.
I want to pass my Plex Server from my NAS WD MyCloud to a higher performance server with WIN10 OS.
What I would like to do is keeping my actual database (I got more then 12.000 files, all well recognised) keeping same HD with same structure and files.
I’d like to avoid to spend 1 month to recognize all the files and checking TV series for the intro.
Is there a way to keep the database of the NAS in order to use on the other WIN10 server?
I’ve downloaded the database from PLEX of NAS, but I don’t know if I can upload in the new WIN10 server.
I got the PLEX PASS.
Can you help me to do it?
Thank you very much for your support.
It is not completely straight forward because of the differences in how file paths are between the two operating systems and how advanced settings on stored. But the basic information on what needs to transfer from one to the other is here. Move an Install to Another System | Plex Support
Hi, Thanks for your reply and help.
I had fast way to recognizing again all the files in Windows.
However I’ve noted that in the TV programs the system doesn’t recognize the intro.
I’ve checked in the PLEX setting and the voice is flagged, but when I upload a new serie the system start recognizing metadata but not intro.
Can you please help me to do it?
Is PLEX windows server different from myCloud NAS?
It is very nice the possibility to jump over the intro…
