How to transfer data to a new server

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4392 (Windows 10)
Player Version#: 7.23.0.13018 (Nvidia Shield 2019)

I’m looking for help on installing PMS on a new server. The old server is a Windows 7 pc and the new server is a Windows 10 pc.

I followed the steps at Move an Install to Another System | Plex Support and while everything is there, it’s basically like a fresh install. My main concern is I’m not someone who likes to binge watch shows, so rather than watching one or two at a time, I have about 25 active in my “On Deck” and take some time between episodes and seasons. I was hoping that those steps would transfer the played/unplayed tag, so that I wouldn’t have to manually tag that I’m up to S03E07 on one show, S05E01 on another, and so on. Ideally I’d love to have the order of On Deck be maintained, but I’d settle for just having the watched/unwatched tag marked correctly. But everything was marked as unwatched and my On Deck is empty.

Should that have transferred over or is there another process that I can try? I saw that different OSs may be trickier…could going from Windows 7 to 10 be an issue here?

Most frequent mistake is to copy the data while the source Plex server is still running.
Which results in a damaged database in the copy.
You will then have to either copy the database again, or reinstate one of the backups Restore a Database Backed Up via 'Scheduled Tasks' | Plex Support
