I have two home user accounts, one with a password (mine) and one without (other). With the latest buddy build/beta from the other day I have setup the new touch id and it works if I select my account from the listing of users.
However there appears to be an issue with the following workflow:
Select my account, use touch id, get logged in successfully
Select the other account and enter successfully (i.e. no password)
Select my account, use touch id, get put into the other account (not mine)
If I cancel touch id and enter my password in step 3, I am successfully logged into my account.
Please let me know if you need any additional information/logs or if this is a known issue.
Note: I am currently on the new iOS 13 beta 2 so I am not sure if that is contributing to this behaviour but touch id works in other non-Plex apps without issues.
I just received another email for the buddy build #17590 and did another installation. The same issue persists.
I also did the same test as before between two password protected account and the same issue persists…meaning it does not appear to be related to password/non-password accounts.
So I just installed the buddy build #17638 which has corrected the touch id issue (as stated in the notes) but it has seemed to introduce another issue with the workflow
If I had selected a non-touch id user, logged in and then chose to select a different user, the little check mark is by the current user as I would expect (since technically I went to that user and haven’t selected anyone else).
I now select the main user with touch id enabled but nothing appeared to happen…no check selection or prompting for touch id. However, if I use touch id I am then logged into the appropriate user.
In short, there doesn’t appear to be any indication that you have selected the touch id user and it seems that the touch screen was unresponsive…but in actuality the touch id user was selected and awaiting touch id.
Edit:
If I turn off the touch id then navigation between users is quick, fluid, and accurate.
