Trakt

I don’t believe it is officially supported, but does anyone have the trakt plugin working? I can’t get it to scrobble or sync library or anything. My library is from another user whom is sharing it with me. Should it be scrobbling and syncing or is it simply broken? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

The trakt.tv plugin must be set up on the server. Since you don’t have an own server, you can’t do much.

okay, I went ahead and intsalled it on the server end and now I can get it to scrobble. The problem is that it only syncs up with the myplex user in which the serve is running. It does not sync with the regular user whom the library is being shared with. My next question is how do I get multiple trakt accounts to sync with different plex user accounts accessing the same plex media server? I can’t find a way to define users within the plugin. And I believe the filter option only lets you filter out the users which you don’t want scrobbled.

The latest update I could find was that they were in beta back in June to get multiple user support. Has there been any progress?

I don’t use it myself. From what I gathered here in the forums, you can indeed define which plex account are allowed to scrobble and sync. But it was not exactly intuitive…

“WARNING: If you have multiple users on your server, please ensure you have filters set. The default configuration will scrobble all media playing on your server to your trakt.tv account.”

@cherritaker the trakt channel uses a single trakt login, and can then be limited to scrobble specific plex users, but you can’t have it use distinct trakt logins for distinct plex users on a single plex server

See my rant here.

Is this still the case or has there been an update to allow multiple trakt accounts to sync up with separate plex accounts?

Additionally, if anyone could explain specifically how the filters work, I would greatly appreciate it.

This was pointed out in the “Rant” posted by @bonyboy but thought it should be posted here, too.

If you do your own rips from legally purchased DVD or BR and maintain those hard copies in case the law comes knocking, nothing to worry about. If you download via torrents, zero-day or newsgroups, well, it’s on you if the law breaks in your door. You did it to yourself.

Yes, I did read that. Though theoretically, one could set their profile to private and only allow people they know to view their collections. That would protect them from prying eyes I believe.

Now I’m having issues using the filter. It seems that the trakt works on the primary account’s library watched status. That account is the one that holds a plex pass. The second account is a managed user and the third is a friend whom I share my library with. When I add the two accounts that are not my main in the filters section separated by commas in the trakt settings they do not sync up. It still only syncs the library on my main plex pass account. So do the names you add in the filters in the trakt settings get included or excluded? I’m still confused as to why this isn’t syncing properly
