Hey guys I got a new sound system, it’s not the greatest but my first 5.1 and I’m loving it.
My TV (Samsung RU7100) supports lots of audio formats (AC3, AAC etc) but my receiver only supports AC3/Dolby Digital.
So when trying to play a file with AAC audio (and DTS transcodes to AAC) but I just get really low audio volume and it’s unpleasant. Remuxing the audio to AC3 640kbps fixes the issue, but I don’t want to go through my whole library doing this, especially to TV shows.
Is there a way I can force Plex to transcode to AC3 instead of AAC? I looked into the Samsung Tizen profile and removed all the AAC entries and kept AC3 but when I checked the Plex Media Server.log it says it’s using Generic.xml anyway for some reason, so I copied the Samsung Tizen contents into that but then I just get a playback error.
Any other way guys besides remuxing a lot of my library? Thank you
