Transcode Cache Overun with TrueHD 7.1 to FLAC audio transcoding

Server Version#: 1.41.4.9399
Player Version#: 8.45 (9684)

When playing back a TrueHD 7.1 audio stream as part of a video on Apple TV, even though the video stream is direct stream, the audio stream is transcoding to FLAC but it’s also using up a ton of storage like it’s stuck in a loop. I have 16GB memory in a tmpfs dedicated to Plex and it uses all 16GB within a couple minutes of playback and then crashes the playback and resets the transcode folder back to zero usage.

I’ve tried this on multiple 4K HDR TrueHD 7.1 media files and the result is always the same when transcoding TrueHD 7.1 to FLAC. About 2 min of playback, tmpfs folder maxed out, crashes player and resets to zero.

Attaching debug logs as this appears to be some kind of bug that it would chew through transcode cache storage so fast and then fail.

If I choose another audio stream in the same file, like a 5.1, it direct play to Apple TV as expected and works.

A known problem with 1.41.4 beta.

Fall back to current public release, 1.41.3.
