I have noticed that the Android client sometimes reports:
status: timeout of 30000ms exceeded
Or the Mac client reports:
An unknown error occurred (4294967283) Error code: 4294967283
before the corresponding server logs show:
Streaming Resource: Reached Decision
Attached is the server log from the Android connection when this occurs, the timestamps indicate the decision takes about 11seconds
Is there any way to increase the time the apps wait, or improve the performance of the decision making on the server? (apart from a faster cpu :-))
I doesn’t always fail, sometimes the decision is made in time and the player starts playing the transcoded stream.

Do the drives where your media is stored go to sleep/ low power mode?
Hi, Thanks for looking at this!
I don’t think so. It has no problem starting direct play or jumping around on a 4K TV, just when it has to make a transcode decision for a lower spec playback device or over a WAN.
Did you have a metric or test in mind I could run to see if it is in spec?
The snippet of your log doesn’t show the timeout so i can’t tell if the issue is on the server or the client. The log does show the server requesting a bandwidth of over 100 mbps, which means your video must have a large bitrate. Do you see this issue with smaller files?
Can you recreate and provide the full logs?
Sorry for the slow response. I’ve just been able to try this again.
