My server is a bit old so it stutters when trying to transcode live TV to full HD quality. Of course, once transcoded it can direct stream in full quality just fine.
If I start a live channel, and then pause it, I guess Plex is transcoding the portion of the show that it buffers, because when I resume playback there is no stuttering until it catches back up to the live feed.
If I’m recording a show, and after it records for awhile, I can ‘start playback from beginning’. My DVR is set to transcode during recording. However, I guess Plex doesn’t actually transcode while it is recording, because when I playback using this method the feed stutters.
Is there anyway to make Plex transcode during a recording and allow me to initiate playback from the transcoded file during the recording the way it transcodes when I pause a Live channel?
