Transcode on PlexDVR

I have latest release of PMS.
I have HDHR Prime

I have transcode=Off on the config

TV records just fine, and on my Windows 10, PHT, and PMP they shows play just fine

Roku not so much, as they have to be transcoded.

I have a few questions:

  1. If I turn transcoding on, I assume it will convert it to h.264 in MKV format? Or will it leave it in TS format? My issues is I do post processing to capture CC/subtitles.
  2. If the above it true, and transcode puts it in MKV format (meaning I cannot use it, Does anyone have a suggestion for fast command line transcode to convert mpeg2 to h.264?

Looks like the Roku doesn’t support .TS

  1. Yes it will convert to MKV h.264.
  2. You can use a program like Handbrake or FFMPEG to convert your files.

Turning on transcoding will result in it being converted to h264, but currently all recordings end up in a .ts container as far as I’m aware.

I will test this out… if it is TS, that is good, and h264 will probably fix Roku issues :slight_smile:
