This happens only with certain media. The current media I’m troubleshooting is direct playing video but transcoding audio ac3 5.1 to aac stereo and converting container from mkv to mp4.
My problem only seems to happen when using the web player. I show I am way ahead in the transcode in the server, but in the player the buffer appears to stop and when I hit the end of the buffer, the video stops playing. There is still plenty transcoded, and this is on my internal gigabit network, so it’s not bandwidth. I have PLENTY of resources left available on the server and it’s not being taxed on network on the server or the client (client is my gaming rig with plenty of resources as well). If I close and re-open the video, it starts playing just fine until it hits the end of the buffer again. What’s worse is that it’s not all the time? Sometimes I can play just fine without this happening and sometimes it doesn’t stop happening, making it hard to track down exactly what’s happening. I’m looking for the web player logs but haven’t found them yet to share here.
