I cannot find this, logging into the container I see:

As per I above I suspect codecs are under /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/lib ?

Never mind, I deleted the whole container and reinstalled which pulled everything fresh.

Will see how I get on with it…

Unfortunately, that won’t do it. The codecs actually live in your Plex data folder, which is generally preserved. It’s the folder you map to /config in your container, in ./Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Codecs.

OK deleted all the codecs under /Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Codecs/ad47460-4673-linux-x86_64, on restarting and playing video I can see it downloads them again (although they are the same size as the old one’s I backed up first).

There have been times when updated versions are still the same exact size because the replacement code, when compiled, is the same binary file size.

This failure is happening during scheduled tasks, I have this configured:

Looking at the logs specifically I believe “Generating video preview thumbnails” is causing the issue, if you can run my file through that task on your systems then you should be able to re-create the fault.

Been trying to recreate it but haven’t.

By definition, I should easily recreate it as I have the same exact binary files.
The only difference here is the CPU.

You have the i7-7700 (KabyLake) ?
I have one in my QNAP; which is almost done reshaping the volume to 128TB (8x20)
My i7-8809 can’t recreate it.
