What is the transcoding bitrate set at by default with PlexConnect? I know that in the Roku settings you can choose 4.0mbps/720p, 5.0mbps/1080p, etc. Anyway to set that in PlexConnect or is it a planned feature? Also, is it planned to start using the new transcoder instead of the old? This is really so great. Thank you very much!
I am not sure what the default is currently set to (maybe Baa or Roidy can answer that) but the ability to set a specific rate is planned (i would see this as a pre requisite for MyPlex support) as is the use of the new transcoder.

We currently use the old transcoder with a quality setting of 9 which I think is about 720p@4Mbps, but I could be wrong about that. Once we move over to the universal transcoder bitrate should will be selectable much like it was on the old ATV2 Plex app.
H264 level 4.2 at 1080, quality 12 is the max. PlexAPI in XMLConverter.py is where you'll find those settings. Check the other thread, transcoding issues, for a bit more info. And google h264 level 4; some wiki page shows bitrates and profile information.
