Transcoding problem (only for 1080p) combined with CCwGTV 4k

The problem is that my CCwGTV 4k will play 4k movies native resolution cropped in on a 1080p TV, while not giving me the option to transcode to 1080p.

Shouldn’t need to transcode here. The CCWGTV should play the 4K content natively and then downscale to 1080p for sending to the display.

So all my 4k movies play native resolution cropped in the middle, but only on my CCwGTV 4k.

If content is actually cropped like you said this sounds like a playback settings issue. Check the Plex app to make sure it’s set to Letterbox mode (to add letterboxing to content with aspect higher than your TV). Also check the TV’s settings regarding zoom.

I’ll try rolling back the plex app version but I’ll need a minute to figure out how to do this on a chromecast with google tv.

Install the Downloader app. Then you can browse the Plex for Android thread and download/install previous app versions of the Plex client app.
