Transconding is failing on Ubuntu 19.04

Hello,

On a fresh install of Ubuntu 19.04 released in April and the latest plex, any videos played through transcoding fails (direct works)

Answering to myself… I’ve been researching this for 2 days with no luck, and when I finally decide to post, I find the issue…

So for posterity or anyone needing this: the partition that contains the plex data needs to be mounted with exec. This means in my case that /etc/fstab needed to be corrected with exec in the options:

/dev/sdd1        /media/donnees3 ext4    user,rw,auto,exec 0     2
