Have a Samsung QE75QN85, this is supposed to have AV1 support in it.
Running Plex app 5.93.2 plattform version 6, it refuses to direct play AV1 files.
Any tricks to get this to work?
What container are you using? It may be the tv only supports av1 in a certain container.
its mkv, which is supported aswell
Try changing the file to an mp4 and see if that direct plays.
According to the manual, the Samsung Smart TV supports the MKV container and AV1 codec. Unfortunately, the TV doesn’t report a valid profile for AV1, so the server has to transcodes AV1 videos.

Direkt Play do not ask for a profile. It sends the video file as it is to the TV.

If forcing direct play doesn’t work that means the tv didn’t support it. You can try changing the container to mp4 and see if that’s supported.
