I have PMS running on a W10 PC (latest build), with playback on a Samsung Q95T TV attached via eARC to a Samsung Q950T soundbar using a high bandwidth HDMI cable.
File is an MKV with HEVC video and two audio tracks, one is True HD (7.1) and the other an AC3 5.1. The TV defaults to the TrueHD track and the result is a scrambled picture (think neon pink and green), however if I select the AC3 track it works fine.
I know the TV can’t pass through the True HD audio to the sound bar (which is a real shame), but I didn’t expect it to impact the video like this - I expected the server to transcode the audio.
My Nvidia Shield plays the same file, with the TrueHD track, just fine - so the file itself it ok.
Am I missing a setting somewhere, to have the TV “ignore” the TrueHD track?
