Is it possible to place the server in a “local only” mode?
I would like to limit searches and play/purchase options to content in my libraries.
The default behaviour appears to be showing rent and purchase options on external web sites.
If there is a way to prioritize local libraries over other sources, that would be useful as well.
But when I ask Alexa to find “Meet Joe Black”, which is ripped and available at 4k quality in my library, but instead I am shown how I can rent or buy in a lesser quality, streaming format, it seems counter-productive.
if available on your server and it went to a universal details page it should have shown as available on your server as well.
Not sure which client you are using but in web app on right side of search bar you can disable " more ways to watch" and the other things under “on Plex” ,and of course make sure your servers are enabled there.
Also in your accounts Online Media Sources settings you can turn off “DISPLAY “MORE WAYS TO WATCH” SEARCH RESULTS” and any of the other things you do not want on that page
On the computer running Plex Server, I right clicked on the System Tray icon, then Open Plex player. If I type in a title in the search bar (top of web player) and the movie is in my libraries, I get a hit. If I click on the “poster” for the movie, I drill down to the page with the Play button and bio of the movie. The source of the movie is shown as residing in my server library. If I click play, it plays from my HDD. (As expected…)
when I do the same thing on my FireTV4K Max, the search result shows the “poster”. If I click through to the “bio” page (for lack of a better word), there is no option to play from my library. Not under the main view options. Not in Additional ways to view.
But if I open “Keiths Plex”, I see all my libraries and can use the remote buttons to select a movie and play it.
So The FireTV4K Plex App has access to my Plex Server, but the search Agents are not looking (or finding) hits for movies in my server libraries. Even if I use the “keyboard” to type in the search string. (This is not just an Alexa issue…)
I do not know enough about the Plex Server and Amazon Plex App to know where to look.
Is this a Server side setting, or is this a player app setting?
