I’m having an issue with search on my Plex server. It used to work fine, but lately, for a while now, when I search, it only finds items that are already in my libraries.
On the Plex.tv homepage, search works perfectly. It finds all movies. But on my server, it only finds the movies that are available locally. I would like to be able to access the details page for movies I don’t have and see which platforms they are available on.
Does anyone know how to fix this or what settings I should check?
Can you click on the search preference icon in the search box (the two sliders) and verify that More Ways to Watch is checked? Plex will only search media in the sources you tell it to search – with More Ways to Watch disabled, it’ll not let you discover things outside your own and shared servers.

I didn’t even know about that option, I’ve never touched it and couldn’t understand why Plex wasn’t finding any movies anymore!
