I have multiple UHD Blu-ray backups on my PMS - all HEVC 4K HDR10. I experience zero issues playing over the network (1GbE LAN) using in VLC, Kodi, or MPC from the server. Plex is the only software with problems. PMS is always listing the playback as “transcoding HEVC to H264” in the “Now Playing” menu even though I have set everything to “original” and “maximum” for playback in every settings menu available.
This error occurs on the server itself and affects playback on the Xbone app, Windows 10 app, Sony Android TV app, and in Chrome, too.
