I’ve tried 10,000 different naming expressions. None of them will stack my TV episodes. I’m at my wits end with this thing. Does anyone have an expression that actually works?

Not entirely sure what you mean by “stacking”, but have you taken a look at the folder structure support article: https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/?
wow. do I feel like an idiot. I’ve been trying to get seasons of certain shows to not all appear as separate files in Plex. but I was doing it under the “movies” directory. I guess when I initially set this up, I missed that option. this completely solves my problem.
