I have a few TV series I have set to automatically delete episodes a week after viewing. When all episodes within a TV series are deleted, the metadata is removed for that show. When a new episode is added later (new season, or after a hiatus), the show is not automatically added back to the collection. Is there a workaround to prevent this, other than buying more storage and never deleting anything? I’m thinking something like a local asset file within the TV show folder to add it back to the collection when new episodes are added.
Plex has no concept of keeping metadata after you delete an episode or show. That includes the association of a show to a collection.
Whatever deleting/keeping policies you’ve set for the overall show will also apply if you create a dummy file / special.
Yeah, that’s why I was hoping it could be set by a local asset file or something instead.
