In your FAQs, it advises to add a year in parentheses if the name can refer to more than one television show, so Plex can differentiate, but I’m finding that ANY show I add a year in parentheses to the folder title is ignored by Plex and is never added to the library. Thought you should know.
You need the YEAR for this ^^ as already pointed out; the reference to thetvdb was to point out the difference between when to use the YEAR and when not to. Whenever you use the YEAR use it for BOTH the folder and the filename.
I am on PMS Version 1.18.4.2171 and I am getting exactly the same problem with Dracula (2020).
I also have the 2013 version,
Both were added via Sonarr (Nzbdrone) and Sabnzbd and are correctly named.
Is there any way to force PMS to get a specific folder, as the scan/update process seems to have a problem?
Solved the problem by moving Dracula out of the library, ran “Update Libraries” and Dracula (2020) was recognised, then moved Dracula back to the library, ran “Update Libraries” once more…SORTED
A couple of years ago, there was a bug with either Plex or the TVDB where the latest version was automatically selected. Even when it was specifically listed a the TVDB with the year. The Flash and Hawaii 5-0 were a couple of examples, if I remember correctly. Don’t know if it was ever fixed, and I can’t find the thread that had somewhat of a list of the weird shows that didn’t work
To correct it, you had to include the year in the first version, even though it wasn’t listed that way,
Not saying it will work, but I would try just Dracula for the 2020 version (leave the year out) and Dracula (2013) for the 2013 version.
You’ll probably have to do the Plex Dance to get it to work (if it works)
